Biografie:
After completing studies in Cultural Anthropology Gabriel Baur (a.k.a. Gabrielle Baur) attended the Film Department of New York University in 1983-84, where she made her first shorts. Dividing her time between NY and Central America, she worked as assistant director on film & theatre productions, and made a documentary on the struggle of women in a revolution-torn Nicaragua. In 88, she returns to Europe to devote her time to experimental film and script writing, among others 90 "Lulutopia". She studies directing and dramatic technique with Wojciech Marczewski (P), Krzysztof Kieslowski (P), Frank Daniels (USA) & Markus Imhoof (CH). 1994 she realizes "Die Bettkönigin", 2001 "Venus Boyz". Presently she is working on her next feature "Amour Fou In Process" (working title). Baur is conducting film seminars at, among others, the Zurich University of the Arts ZHdK, BA/MA Film Studies. Since 1994 she is ARF/FDS-Delegate for the European Directors Association FERA. Baur is member of the European Film Academy.
